You can now build end-to-end workflows by adding a task element, creating a new automation asset, configuring its inputs, and returning to the process, all without leaving the process editor.

As a developer or process owner, when you add a Task Bot, API, form, or any other task element to the canvas and navigate to select the corresponding file, you can either select an existing file or click Create new to build a new automation on the fly.

To use the create automation feature in the process editor:

Procedure

  1. Drag any task element (Task Bot, API task, Form, Process, AI Agent, or AI Skills) from the Elements panel or use the Quick Add option to insert the task after the Start node.
  2. In the Properties panel, when selecting the corresponding file, you can browse for an existing automation or click Create new to build a new one.
    Option to create automation
    Note:

The Create button is displayed only if you have a Bot Creator license and the required permissions. Availability might be restricted based on your license. For example, AI Skills and AI Agents requires Enterprise Platform license.

  3. When you select Create new, a prompt window appears. Enter the required automation details (such as name, description, and folder path), then click Create & Edit. The process will be auto saved.
Note: The folder path inherits the parent process’s file path.
  4. You will be navigated to the appropriate editor (Bot Editor, API Task Editor, Form Designer, or AI Agent) to create your new automation.
Note: Breadcrumbs will update to reflect the path to the newly created automation.
  5. Using the breadcrumb, navigate back to the parent process. The newly created task will be automatically mapped to the task element, with input values listed if available.
Note: The breadcrumb feature is currently not available for Form Designer and AI Agent builder. You must manually click to return to the process.
