As a professional developer, you will learn how to embed an AI Agent into a process using Process Composer, positioning it at decision points, configuring input values, and assigning user groups to create an intelligent, automated workflow that adapts to real-time business needs.

Benefits

Embedding AI Agents in processes enables:
  • Intelligent decision making: Design workflows that incorporate AI-driven logic alongside human oversight.
  • Scalable automation: Build robust, enterprise-grade processes that automatically adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Integrate AI and automation: Seamlessly integrate AI Agents with existing automation tools and human touch points.
  • Complex process modeling: Create dynamic processes that can adapt based on real-time conditions and outcomes.

You can set up yourAI Agents in the Control Room with the specific capabilities and parameters your workflow requires. This setup enables you to deploy automation solutions that align with modern enterprise digital transformation strategies, delivering enhanced efficiency and intelligent adaptability across your business processes. See Create and manage AI Agent.

Procedure

  1. In Process Composer, drag AI Agent task into your process.
  2. Enter a name in the Element ID field (for example, AI Agent).
  3. Choose an AI Agent in the AI Agent field. You can browse and select one of any public or private AI Agent.
Tip: Click the info icon within the AI Agent field to view additional information, such as the folder path, status, modified by, and time. You can click the file path link to view the file in the edit mode if it’s private and you have permissions to it.
  4. Select Input values check box and map process variables to the AI Agent input variables so it has the context it needs.
  5. Configure task details:
    1. Enter the task name in the Task name (optional) field. For example, Claim Details Agent will be displayed as reference in the UI.
    2. Optional: Select the Hide this task after completion check box. After task completion, the task will be visually hidden from the process step sequence so that users cannot access it afterward.
    3. Choose from the following options to assign the task to the user group:
      • Role: Click Choose to search for the role you want to assign and then click Select.
      • Team: Click Choose to search for the team you want to assign and then click Select.
      • Variable: Click the small (x) to the right of the text box to select a Variable Source and Variable from that source. The Variable option is only valid for Global Variables of type User Group. Global values enable users to reuse identical values between bots instead of creating new variables for each bot. As a process builder, you can select a user group variable within the process to populate the required user group input fields of a Task (such as: Form, Process, or Approval). For more details, click Global values and click Create a global value to learn how to create a global value for a user group. Click Add.
Note: If user group that you specify does not have access to the process, the request will be assigned to the default user group during runtime.
  6. Click Save to finish.

You have now configured the AI Agent task in your process automation.

Your process now includes an intelligent decision-making component powered by AI, seamlessly integrated into the automation flow.
