Delete a user

As an administrator, you can delete or remove a user from the Control Room. For example, when a user account is no longer associated with the organization or when a user is no longer required in the Control Room, you can perform this task.

Prerequisites

Before you delete a user account from the Control Room, verify the following:

  • Review all the dependencies, such as automations, schedules, credentials, device pools, or lockers associated with that user.
  • If the user is a device pool owner and is deactivated or deleted from Control Room, all other owners of the device pool or users who have the Administer ALL device pools permission are notified.

    In the notification email, a link is provided to access and view the device pool associated with the deactivated or deleted account.

  • If the user is a locker or credential owner and is deleted from Control Room, all other owners of the locker or credential, or users who have the Administer ALL Lockers permission are notified.

    If there are no users with Administer ALL Lockers permission, the alert will be sent to users who have the User management permission.

  • Automations that are in queue or scheduled (unattended) will be removed from the In progress activity page.
  • Automations that are already initiated or in-progress will be completed.
  • Ensure that all the in-progress development of automation activities are checked-in.

When you delete a user account, alerts are sent through the following methods:

  • User notifications
  • Email notification: If SMTP is enabled in the Control Room, an email notification is sent to the registered email address.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Control Room as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Users.
  3. Based on whether you want to delete a single user or multiple users, choose one of the following options:
    • Single user: select the user you want to delete, click the actions menu (vertical ellipsis), and select the Delete user option.

      When a confirmation prompt is displayed, click Delete to confirm.

    • Multiple users: Select the users and click Delete checked items at the top.delete-checked-items

      When a confirmation prompt is displayed, click Delete to confirm.

  4. Save your changes.
