Review redaction results

Use the image viewer to see the incoming images and review the redaction results to determine what changes to make to the redaction configurations.

You can use the image viewer to see images in the following buckets:
  • fiq-screenshots: This contains the screenshots that PEG received.
  • forwarded: This is what the screenshot looks like when it is forwarded to the Process Discovery platform. This is populated regardless of whether it is forwarded or not.
  • review: This includes annotated images. PEG adds annotation to the images to clearly show what will be redacted. PEG puts a rectangle around where the redacted word previously existed and includes the text it found above the rectangle.
To review the images, perform the following steps:
Note: These instructions show you the filters that are used frequently, but you can change the selection as needed.
Note: Take note of your version when selecting a filter for sub-step 7.c. Earlier following recent versions.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the image viewer.
    To open the image viewer application, enter the following address in a web browser:
    https://klite-fiq-<UID>.<apex domain>
  2. Click the Bucket 1 (Mandatory) field and select fiq-screenshots.
  3. Click the Bucket 2 (Optional) field and select forwarded.
  4. Use the calendar to select a date range for reviewing the data.

  5. Click the Configure Field drop-down menu and select fields that you want to apply the filter on.
    For example, select the Application, Keystrokes, and Machine fields.

  6. Click Filters to specify a value for the fields that you have selected in the Configure Field.
    For example, select the Field as application, Operand as Is, and the Value as explorer to see the images that contain explorer.

  7. Optional: The Carousel View is default display option. Click the drop-down menu and select Real Time Redaction.

    To see the Real Time Redaction option, set Bucket 1 to fiq-screenshots, and Bucket 2 to forwarded.

    You can use real-time redaction as a sandbox environment, where you can edit the pass and block lists and immediately see the impact of those edits. When you are ready, you can commit your edits to the system redaction configurations.

    1. From the toolbar at the top, click Carousel View > Real Time Redaction.
      Note:

      This is no longer valid from version 0.31 Release Features - Version: 3.3.17 .

    2. Use the slider to review the image before and after redaction.
    3. Depending on your version (earlier following recent versions), use one of the following filters for the images:

      Following steps valid for versions including and more recent than 0.32 Release Features - Version: 3.3.18.

      • Words
        Use the following fields to add the words:
        • Default Allow List: The words on this list are not redacted and are sent to the platform. Words are on this list typically do not contain sensitive, private information (such as credit cards numbers, phone numbers, names, and so on).
          1. User can download or upload allow list
          2. User can add, search, update and delete words from the word list.
        • Default Block List: The words are on this list are redacted and not sent to the platform.
          1. User can download or upload block list
          2. User can add, search, update and delete words from the word list.
        • Create New List: user can create or delete custom allow/block list for the specific cluster of images (scope).

      • Regex
        Use regular expressions (regex) to create string patterns that help match, locate, or manage text. If a user wants criteria-specific redaction, then scope should be added; otherwise, redaction will apply to all images globally. Global effects apply to all images. However, scope can override these global effects only if the scope is higher in priority (BAR: Block, Allow, Replace).
        1. Click the Create regex icon for new regex expression.
        2. Enter a regex pattern in the Regex expression field.
        3. In the Description field, add a description for the new regex expression.
        4. Use the Action field to select one of the following redaction conditions:
          • Allow
          • Block
          • Replace with - user input
        5. Click Commit to save the regex filter.
        6. Allow All - The provided regex key, #!%AllowAllDisableRedactionTurnOffMasking^&*, when applied within the specified scope, guarantees that no words are redacted. It effectively bypass the redaction process, permitting all words to remain visible.

      Note:

      • Words
        Use the following two fields to add or remove the words:
        • Pass List: The words on this list are not redacted and are sent to the platform. Words are on this list typically do not contain sensitive, private information (such as credit cards numbers, phone numbers, names, and so on).
        • Block List: The words are on this list are redacted and not sent to the platform.
      • Regex
        Use regular expressions (regex) to create string patterns that help match, locate, or manage text:
        1. Click the Create regex icon for new regex expression.
        2. Enter a regex pattern in the Regex expression field.
        3. In the Description field, add a description for the new regex expression.
        4. Use the Action field to select one of the following redaction conditions:
          • Allow
          • Block
        5. Click Commit to save the regex filter.
    4. Click Preview to see the redaction results of your edited Pass and Block lists.
      Continue making changes to the lists and reviewing the image until you are satisfied with the redaction results.
    5. Click Commit to apply your changes to the system redaction configurations.
  8. Optional: Export images for further review. To export images, do the following steps:
    1. Click the Export image icon located in the top-right corner of the page.
    2. Select the range of images to export using the modal bar.
    3. Select the slot from which to export the images.
      A slot is a container for up to 100 images.
    4. Alternatively, select the Random export option.
    5. Click Download.
  9. Review the images to ensure the correct content is being redacted.
  10. To change the redaction configurations, do the following steps:
    1. Return to the Redaction list page to update the pass and block lists.
      For more information on editing the pass and block lists, see Manage redaction list configurations.
    2. From the upper right corner, navigate to Admin > PEG configuration > Forwarding.
    3. Click Run re-redaction sync job to apply the new redaction configurations on images that were not forwarded to the Process Discovery platform.
    4. Return to the Image viewer to review the newly-redacted images.

When you are satisfied with the redaction results, turn on image forwarding. See Manage forwarding configurations
