Create a service account for Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension

Create the service account and assign permissions to customize the Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension experience in your embedded widget.

Prerequisites

Use your Co-Pilot Admin account (AAE_Robotic Interface Admin) to create a new user with the proper role and permissions to configure the Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension experience.

Overview

  1. Role: Create a new role, with specific permission, to operate in Automation Co-Pilot as the service account. The permission you assign will structure the Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension experience.
  2. User: After you set up the role, create a new user and assign the role to administer permissions.
  3. Key: Generate the API-Key of the user account that Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension will identify as the service account. During setup of Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension, enter the API-Key.
  4. Connect: Name the account to complete the Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension connection.

To grant permissions to the role:

Procedure

  1. Log in to your Control Room as an Admin user.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Roles in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click Create Role at the top right of the page.
  4. Enter the name for your new role and select the following permissions on the Features page.
    These permissions enable the Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension server to query information to verify user access and save meta data to Automation Co-Pilot.
    • View users
    • View roles
    • View users and roles basic information
    • View licenses
    • Generate API-Key
    • Extension API for service account
  5. Save your new role.

To create a new user for your service account and assign the role:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Users in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click Create User located at the top right toolbar to define a new service account user.
  3. Enter information in the required fields and select the role you previously created and assign it to this user.
  4. Select Allow for Allow Multiple Sessions on the user creation page.
  5. Click Save.

To generate the API key:

  1. Log in to the Control Room with the user you previously created.
  2. Click your user name in the left-hand menu and then click My Settings in the profile card that displays.
  3. Select Generate API key at the top right of the My Settings page.

  4. Save the API key to use when connecting Automation Co-Pilot using Chrome extension.
