Highlights of this release

Here are the top features in the v.35 release:

Connect to any generative AI model
New generative AI models are rapidly being released from model vendors, and customers are creating their own custom models. In this release, we enable you to harness the full potential of AI, by making it easy to connect to these models and use them within your AI Skills and agents. This enables you to take advantage of the latest generative AI innovations and produce the most effective agentic process automations.
Note: This feature requires the Enterprise Platform license. For more information, see Enterprise Platform.

Custom model API

See Uploading a custom model connection.

Build AI Agents faster with AI Skill templates
AI Skills can now be saved as templates enabling you to share and reuse AI Skills across your organization. Pre-built, customizable AI Skill templates give you a head start on building robust and scalable AI Agents and accelerate your time to value with agentic process automation.
Note: This feature requires the Enterprise Platform license. For more information, see Enterprise Platform.

Use AAI Enterprise Knowledge RAG in AI Agent Studio for grounded automations
AAI Enterprise Knowledge is our best-in-class solution to provide retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities to our customers. RAG helps generative AI models create more meaningful outputs and mitigate hallucinations by using your company data to augment LLMs. With this release, you can now use this RAG functionality in AI Agent Studio to build AI Skills that are grounded in your data, enabling you to automate complex business use cases, with the governance you require utilizing AAI Enterprise Knowledge.
Note: This feature requires the Enterprise Platform license and the AAI Enterprise Knowledge license. For more information, see Enterprise Platform.

See Support for RAG capability via Grounded by Enterprise Knowledge.

Improve data extraction accuracy with vision-powered GenAI extraction
Text-based generative AI models fall short when they are used to extract data from complex tables with nested elements or merged columns. In this release, Document Automation integration with vision-based GenAI models unlocks the power of vision-based AI extraction to automate complex document processing tasks. This feature enhances accuracy and reduces the need for manual intervention, allowing you to focus on more strategic initiatives.
Note: This feature requires the Document Automation license. For more information, see Document Automation licenses.

Scale and adapt your process automations with agentic orchestration
The following new features in this release enable you to enhance process automation performance, scalability, and ease of use.
Note: These features require the Enterprise Platform license. For more information, see Enterprise Platform.
  • Web triggers: Instantly trigger automations when SaaS events occur in your enterprise, ensuring timely and efficient process execution.

Track real-time value gains from Document Automation and process automations
New in this release is the ability to track, in real-time, the return on investment (ROI) value of different automation types, including task automation, API automation, Document Automation, and queue automation through CoE Manager. With this capability, you can now track the ROI for document automation processes, providing insights into cost savings and efficiency gains. Furthermore, this release stitches real-time reports for all the automation types into a single view providing an end-to-end holistic view of the financial performance of entire process automations. Finally, you can measure the impact of process automations on your bottom line, helping you make informed decisions and optimize operations.
Note: This feature requires the CoE Manager or CoE Manager Plus license. For more information, see Automation 360 components by license and deployment.

Reliably automate desktop applications that use the Chromium Embedded Framework
For developers, this release supports object-based automation of desktop applications that use Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF). This expands automation coverage as developers can now automate CEF applications with the same reliability and performance as that of traditional web apps. Developers can also leverage JavaScript in desktop CEF applications to improve the reliability of the automations, for example, by automatically closing unexpected pop-ups.
Note: This feature is available in Recorder package version 3.5.0-20241129-105732 and later. See Recorder package updates.

Optimize automation execution with new deployment queue enhancements
With automatic queueing, automations are instantly added to the deployment queue if a targeted device becomes unavailable, ensuring that the automation can be executed when the device becomes available. This makes the overall deployment process more efficient as users do not have to manually redeploy the automations upon device recovery. This newly introduced queue cleanup automatically moves unprocessed items to the historical activity list, reducing delays and enhancing deployment efficiency.

Efficiently manage automation execution recordings
In the v.32 release, we announced the record execution feature, providing you the ability to record automation executions and upload these to the Control Room, so this critical information can help you debug automation failures. In this release, we’ve made this feature more robust with the ability to effectively manage these recordings in case of an upload failure. In the case of a device restart, pending recordings that were not successfully uploaded are automatically retried, ensuring that important execution data is not lost. The system also automatically deletes older recordings that failed to upload after 3 days, freeing up local storage and maintaining an efficient local file system.
Note: This feature requires the Enterprise Platform license. For more information, see Enterprise Platform.

See Record automation execution.

Expand security through integration with new key vault vendor (ARCON)
Automation 360 already provides support for several external key vault providers such as AWS, CyberArk, Azure, and HashiCorp. With this release, we are adding support for ARCON as a key vault provider for On-Premises deployments, specifically for auto-login use cases.
