Manage licenses
- Updated: 2024/10/11
The Automation Anywhere Control Room provides an automated mechanism for tracking the use of licensed software across multiple Control Room instances and share these entitlements in real-time.
The Control Room is capable of connecting to the Cloud license server using your network proxy. For more information, see Configure forward proxy settings.

License summaries
The License Summary table details the status of all licenses deployed, or available to be deployed, across any active Control Room. The details displayed are from the point-of-view of the current Control Room to which you are logged into. This real-time access to license information from multiple deployments across the network enable a seamless integration for allocation of needed RPA resources as the need arises.
Updating licenses from a server
To add licenses for users, select the desired method of accessing the license by clicking Install license from server or Install license from file. See Install license from server or Install license from file.
License server connectivity
If the Control Room cannot connect to the license server due to maintenance, network issues, or outages, it will use a local license cache to manage allocation and deallocation. There is a 32-day period (resiliency period) during which the Control Room can continue to operate normally despite connectivity issues with the license server. During this period, operations can continue, but new GUIDs or forced syncs are restricted. After 32 days, the Control Room is locked until connectivity is restored. After connectivity to the license server is restored, the data is synchronized, and over-consumption warnings are issued if necessary. This feature ensures operations continue even if the license server is temporarily not available. See Cloud licensing FAQ.
