Configure CoE Manager
- Updated: 2026/02/18
The CoE Manager provides several program-level administration tabs to configure it as per your requirements. You must have an admin permission to configure the CoE Manager.
The Admin Settings page serves as the central configuration hub for managing and governing your automation program within the CoE Manager environment. It provides administrators with the tools to define organizational structures, integrate Control Room instances, and set up the framework for opportunity intake, user roles, and automation tracking. This page ensures consistency, control, and scalability across all automation activities within an enterprise.
Through the various configuration sections, administrators can manage integrations with Automation Anywhere Control Room instances (both Cloud and On-Prem), define user roles and permissions, and establish program parameters such as execution units, business units, and tracking metrics. It also includes the ability to configure complexity and alignment scoring models that help in evaluating automation opportunities based on strategic goals and process characteristics.
The Admin Settings page further supports import/export capabilities, making it easy to replicate configurations or migrate settings between environments. Additional areas such as email notifications, monthly targets, and change request types help streamline governance and maintain oversight of automation progress.
Overall, this page acts as the backbone of a well-structured CoE framework — enabling transparency, standardized operations, and effective alignment between automation initiatives and business objectives.
The Admin Settings page enables you to manage your automation program and keep it aligned with your defined goals, enhancing planning and decision-making. The administration level sections you can define are given below:
- Enterprise settings: Contains the Enterprise ID, API GUID, and App ID that you can use for external integrations. You must have CoE Manager Plus license for any external integration. You can crowdsource automation ideas by sharing the opportunity intake form URL provided in this section, this is a self-signed HTTPS URL. By integrating this URL into other applications, you enable the creation of opportunities directly from those applications. This URL allows anyone in your organization to easily submit ideas.
- Program settings: Manage your program and keep it aligned with your defined goals that help improve the planning and decision-making process. See Program settings.
- Integrations: You can manage the integration of automation platforms for the program. CoE Manager enables you to track process level return on investment (ROI) of your automations with real-time dashboards. See Integrations.
- Opportunity configurations: You can define detailed prompts for complexity and strategic alignment questions for automation opportunities. See Opportunity Configurations.
- Monthly targets: Keeping track of the budget is important to
the success of any project. One effective way to achieve this is by setting monthly
targets. Setting these targets helps ensure the project stays on track and within
budget, significantly enhancing overall project outcomes.
You can use this table to plan how to allocate the budget for each month for the entire program and its business units. It is a useful tool for managing your project and keeping track of budget allocation and usage across the program and business units. Additionally, you can measure the achieved ROI versus the expected ROI with the information provided in the table.
For example, if your total budget for the month is $10,000, and you have four business units under the program Finance, HR, and business development. You can allocate $2000 for each business unit and monitor how the budget is utilized by these business units and the entire program and measure their contribution towards ROI generation.

- Export & import data: You can bulk import previously created data such as opportunities, workstreams, integrations, opportunity sources, activities, and so on into a program in CoE Manager. This saves time and ensures your data is centralized for better tracking and management. See Export and import data in CoE Manager.
- Email
notifications: The email notification system in CoE Manager keeps all relevant stakeholders informed about key events
and updates within the tenant, as shown in the table below. Note: Only an administrator can configure email notifications for these events.
