Automation 360 IQ Bot

IQ Bot is a web-based, cloud-native intelligent document processing solution that can read and process various complex documents and emails. It combines RPA with multiple AI techniques to intelligently capture, classify, and extract semi-structured and unstructured data, allowing document-centric business processes to be automated end-to-end.

Automation 360 IQ Bot is a hybrid solution for On-Premises and Cloud deployments.

Note: From the Build 4695 (A2019.13), Automation 360 IQ Bot has feature parity with IQ Bot Version, and some features from Version 11.3.5. For feature parity information between Automation 360 IQ Bot and the corresponding IQ Bot 11.x versions, see Automation 360 IQ Bot feature comparison matrix.

Cognitive automation combines the technologies of IQ Bot with RPA bots to convert semi-structured (such as invoices or purchase orders) and unstructured data (images) into structured data that RPA bots can use in subsequent automations.

IQ Bot works by using learning instances, which are structures that hold information such as the document type, language, and the table and form fields to extract. Within a learning instance, there are one or more bots that are trained to extract data from documents.

Additionally, RPA bots are built to support IQ Bot functions, such as to train the Classifier, sharpen document resolution, and download the extracted data.

After the bots in a learning instance are trained and the necessary RPA bots are built, these learning instance assets are exported from the development environment and imported to the production environment. Here, the assets are configured to process documents automatically:
  1. Retrieve documents from a source, such as attachments in incoming emails.
  2. Improve document quality.
  3. Classify the documents into groups.
  4. Extract data.
  5. Either download the extracted data or first send the document for manual validation, then download the data.

The graphic below demonstrates the order in which the various IQ Bot users create or configure learning instance assets. For more information on the users, see IQ Bot user personas.
