Use the Adaptive Search Queries options to define and test search queries for fields used in learning instances.

Prerequisites

  • The Document Extraction package version must be 3.38.8 or later.
  • The Adaptive Search Queries feature is available only in test mode. See Test learning instances.
  • User must have the Validator user role along with the Train learning instance groups permission. See Document Automation users.
  • Learning instances must use a generative AI provider for data extraction.
Note: Validation feedback and adaptive search queries work independently and are not interdependent.

Procedure

  1. Validate documents in test mode. See Validate documents in test mode.
  2. Click the three dots (three dots menu icon) icon at the upper-right corner of the screen, and click Adaptive search query.
The following fields are available on the Adaptive search query screen:

Adaptive Search Queries screen with fields for form and table data

    a. Adaptive search query options
    • Close: Use this option to close the Adaptive search query screen and return to the form and table field validation screen.
    • Process: Use this option to process the document after updating search queries. A new version will be created when you update search queries and process the document. Updated search queries can be viewed in the version history. See Version history fields.
    b. Version history
Use the drop-down list to select the version to view the search queries used for form and table fields. If the document is not processed for a version, you must perform the following steps to view the search queries and results for the selected version:
    1. Click Close to return to the previous screen.
    2. Click Process now to process the document for the selected version.
    3. Click the three dots (three dots menu icon) icon at the upper-right corner of the screen, and click Adaptive search query.
    c. Cluster Id
A unique cluster ID is generated for a set of documents with similar layout and content. If you have validation feedback enabled, it is applied to all the documents associated with this cluster ID.
    d. Gen AI model
Displays the generative AI provider used for data extraction.
    e. Form and table field labels
Displays the field labels used for form and table fields. By default, the Adaptive search query screen displays the search query options for the first field defined in the learning instance.
    f. Search query option for fields
Displays if the field is using the default search query. A Use default option is seen when a user-defined query is used and users can select this option to use the default query for the field.
    g. Search query
Use this option to define or update a search query for a field.
    h. Search queries for fields
Use this option to perform the following options:
    • View the list of search queries used for a field.
    • Select a search query to be used in a field.

Click the search query (search query icon) icon to open the search queries window to find the search queries defined for the field. Click a search query and click Choose to select the query for the field.

    i. Select prompt tag
Use this option to select prompt tags available for a field. See Using prompt tags in generative AI prompts.
    j. Results
Displays the extracted data for a selected field.
  3. Select a field for which you need to update the search query.
  4. Update the search query for the field in the Search query field.
  5. Optional: Select a Prompt tag from the drop-down menu.
  6. Repeat step 3 to step 5 to update search queries for other fields.
  7. Click Process to validate the results.
