Applicable scenarios to use the Bridge package

This topic covers various scenarios where you can use the IQ Bot to Document Automation Bridge package effectively.

Scenario 1: IQ Bot active learning instance with limited or minimal active training on groups

When you have the IQ Bot active learning instance with limited or minimal active training on groups.

Recommendation: You can leverage the current capabilities of IQ Bot - DA Bridge package. Consider the limitations listed for this package.

Scenario 2: IQ Bot active learning instance with active training on groups within specified threshold

When you have IQ Bot active learning instance with active training on groups being done within specified threshold, you can use the IQ Bot - DA Bridge package in the following scenarios:
  • When existing groups are trained (fields remapped) and expectation is that overall the number of new groups are not likely to increase beyond 5-10% OR ~ 50 groups in a year.
Note: Feedback-based improvement is not a replacement for IQ Bot training (bridged learning instance). It allows continuous learning from user validation feedback in the production environment. For handling additional workloads like IQ Bot training, we recommend building learning instances natively in Document Automation rather than moving them from IQ Bot.

Recommendation: IQ Bot to Document Automation Bridge command package is enhanced in Automation 360 v.32 release with validation based improvements for extraction which provides a feedback loop to improve extraction. While you can use the current IQ Bot - DA Bridge package package, this planned enhancement can be further beneficial in managing trainings in future. Hence, you can leverage the IQ Bot to Document Automation Bridge command package that is released with Automation 360 v.32 for this use case.

  • When existing groups are trained (fields remapped) and expectation is that overall the number of new groups are likely to increase beyond 5-10% OR ~ 50 groups in a year.

Recommendation: Though, the current IQ Bot - DA Bridge package package is an option for this use case, it might make more sense to re-build the learning instance natively in Document Automation. Document Automation native capabilities can potentially serve a significant portion of extraction with this approach and overall effort to manage the learning instance is likely to be lesser over the period of time.

Scenario 3: IQ Bot active learning instance with changes to existing fields within groups

When you have an IQ Bot active learning instance with changes to existing fields within groups, for example, new field additions or updates, validation changes, or updates required to apply custom logic changes using Python.

Recommendation: It is recommended not to use the IQ Bot to Document Automation Bridge package. After importing an IQ Bot active learning instance into Document Automation, you cannot add fields, make validation changes, or change the custom logic. It is recommended to re-build the learning instance natively in Document Automation.
Note: If there is any custom logic, you can implement it in Document Automation using data manipulation bots. For more details, see Get document data action and Update document data action.
