  4. Attach that volume to your instance on which you want to update the Windows Server.
  5. On your Windows server, open PowerShell as an administrator.
  6. Navigate to the OS attached drive.
    For example, if your OS attached drive is D, enter D: and press the Enter/Return key.
  7. Run the following command:
    .\setup.exe /auto upgrade /dynamicupdate disable

    Windows Server Setup screen is displayed.

  8. Select Windows Server 2022 Datacenter (Desktop Experience) and click Next.
    Windows Server 2022 installation starts and can take up to an hour (for standalone system) to complete.
