Bot Agent compatibility

Before you install the Bot Agent, ensure that you review the compatible Automation 360 builds.

The latest version of Bot Agent is available for download and is compatible with the Control Room version that is used.

Guidelines

When you update the Bot Agent in Windows Server 2012 or earlier versions of the operating system, you might encounter unexpected system reboots during the update because of the limitations in the operating system.
When the Bot Agent update is optional, you can continue to use the Bot Agent from any of the previous (optional) releases, which will be compatible with the current release. For example, the Bot Agent update is optional for v.26. So you can continue to use the Bot Agent from v.25 release.
You can download and install the latest version of Bot Agent anytime on your device. However, an alert on the availability of the latest version of Bot Agent is displayed on the login screen if you are connected to a device that is running a previous version of Bot Agent.
A Control Room version is only compatible with corresponding or previous versions of Bot Agent.
For example, if you are using the v.26 Control Room, you can use the Bot Agent version released with v.26 or previous versions. However, you cannot use Bot Agent version that is later than v.26 Control Room.
In Community Edition, the Bot Agent is automatically updated to the compatible version when a Bot Agent update is required.
If you want to use the latest version of packages from a new release, you might be required to update to the latest version of the Bot Agent even if it is optional.
The Bot Agent version in the Control Room is displayed in the format of XX.YY.0, where the sub-version is displayed as 0. However, the version displayed in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel shows the specific sub-version number (instead of 0), for example, XX.YY.22. That is, if your Bot Agent version in the Control Room is 22.40.0 (compatible with Automation 360 v.32), the version displayed in the Control Panel is 22.40.20.
