Set up organization hierarchy and link opportunities

You can set up an organization hierarchy by creating business units and their sub-level units and link opportunities to them. This provides a better understanding of how many opportunities were submitted from different areas of the organization, how many were automated, and measures the ROI generated from them.

Prerequisites

You must have an administrator role.

Procedure

  • Create a business unit.
    1. In the CoE Manager, navigate to the Admin-Program tab.
    2. Click Create Business Unit.
    3. Enter a name for the business unit.
    4. Click Create.
A new business unit is created under the root folder which you can verify in the navigation pane on the left.
  • Create a sub-level unit for the organization hierarchy structure.
    1. In the CoE Manager, select the business unit for which you want to create sub-levels.
    2. In the business unit details page, navigate to the Org Hierarchy Admin tab.

    4. Enter a name for the sub-level unit.
    5. Click Create.
Note: You can create an unlimited amount of business units and sub-levels units.
A sub-level is created under the business unit which you can verify in the navigation pane on the left. A new Org Hierarchy Path column in the Opportunity and Org Hierarchy Admin tab displays the path (including the business unit and its sub-levels) this opportunity belongs to.
  • Map opportunity to the business unit or its sub-level unit.
    1. Select the business unit or the sub-level unit for which you want to map an opportunity.
    2. Navigate to the Opportunities tab.

    4. Select the business unit or the sub-level unit from the drop-down to which you want to map this opportunity.
    5. Enter the rest of the details in the intake form and click Finish.
After a page refresh, the opportunity is displayed under the business unit or its sub-level unit to which this opportunity is mapped.
