Conversational automation with Automation Co-Pilot
- Updated: 2025/08/23
Transform how your employees work with the intuitive chat experience of Automation Co-Pilot. Enhance your enterprise operations by enabling natural language interactions that replace static forms with conversational interfaces, boosting innovation and productivity.
Automation Co-Pilot, leveraging Amazon Q Business, provides context-aware answers and unified search experience. It supports complex workflows with conversational commands and ensures security with role-based access control.
The conversational approach simplifies access to process automations and information, improving efficiency and productivity. Automation Co-Pilot helps users easily find and deploy relevant automations relevant to their roles, such as HR tasks, without extensive training. This approach accelerates operational efficiency and productivity from day one.
What is conversational automation?
Conversational automation is transforming our interaction with technology by enabling us to communicate with systems as naturally as we do with each other. Instead of navigating complex menus or filling out rigid forms, you can simply ask questions or give instructions in plain English. It is like giving your software a voice and the ability to understand your intent. Behind the scenes, advanced AI and natural language processing work together to interpret and respond to your requests, making the experience feel like a real conversation.
In the workplace, this technology is revolutionizing daily workflows. Employees can quickly get answers, complete routine tasks, and access information without needing to handle complex systems or wait for assistance. This creates a more efficient, user-friendly environment where technology adapts to people, not the other way around. What makes this particularly powerful is its ability to remove traditional barriers between users and digital tools, creating experiences that feel intuitive and genuinely helpful rather than cumbersome or mechanical.
Key features
- Natural conversational experience
- Users can interact with enterprise systems in plain language, such as, What is the maximum credit limit increase I can request for a Tier B customer without CFO approval? or Create a sales order in SAP. This eliminates the need for technical expertise or training to locate and execute automations.
- Knowledge integration
- Integrates with enterprise knowledge bases using retrieval augmented generation (RAG) to provide accurate, context-specific responses. RAG provides customized, context-specific responses for your business needs, reducing AI hallucinations by grounding responses in enterprise-specific data. It is integrated with conversational Co-Pilot, allowing it to run automations and retrieve specific information through a single unified experience.
- Automation discovery and execution
- Conversational automation identifies relevant automations mapped to the user’s role and allows them to execute workflows directly from the interface. For example, an HR user can onboard a new employee by querying the system, which suggests and runs automations like creating a Workday record or sending a welcome email, and so on.
- Human-in-the-loop collaboration
- Combines automated tasks with manual oversight where decisions or inputs are required, ensuring workflows remain efficient yet adaptable.
- Unified search and action
- A single conversational interface enables users to search for information, retrieve insights, and trigger automations across multiple systems without switching contexts. It is also easy to locate and deploy automations through conversation.
- Embedded productivity
- Conversational automation can be embedded in business applications like Salesforce, SAP, or Workday, providing users with instant access to automations within their daily workflows.
- Prompt suggestions
- Prompt suggestions make tasks easier and faster by offering ready-to-use starting points that you can simply click to activate. They help you get started quickly, save time, and focus on completing your work instead of figuring out the next steps. Designed to enhance productivity, these prompts guide you smoothly through your workflow, allowing you to achieve your goals efficiently.
Benefits
- Ease of use: Users do not need prior knowledge of automations; they can simply type natural language prompts to access and run relevant automations.
- Time savings: Saves time by letting users get things done quickly through natural language, skipping complex navigation and speeding up every step of the workflow.
- Improved onboarding: New users can quickly learn and execute workflows without extensive training, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
