Add Amazon Bedrock models from AWS Services

This capability is an additional option available to you for adding other models available from Amazon Bedrock that are not displayed in the drop-down list, when selecting a model for creating a Grounded by knowledge baseModel connection.

This option gives you the ability to use other models available from Amazon Bedrock, and add them to the list in AI Agent Studio and use them with a Grounded by knowledge base Model connection.

For using these models in Connection settings > Choose a model or create a custom one drop-down list, we recommend using either the Model ID or Model ARN that you would procure from Amazon Bedrock Services.
Note:

For both scenarios ensure to choose the correct region specified for that model in Amazon Bedrock. You can select from the list of specified regions in Amazon Bedrock.

See Supported regions and models for Amazon Bedrock knowledge bases.

Here's a sequence of steps to follow when adding a model in the Connection settings > Choose a model or create a custom one field:
  1. In Connection settings > Choose a model or create a custom one field, if you do not see a specific model that you would prefer to use, you can add this model from Amazon Bedrock.
  2. Go to the Amazon Bedrock console and navigate to Amazon Bedrock > Foundational models > Base models and select the model you want to use and get the Model ID and Model ARN values.
  3. In Automation Anywhere, in AI > Model connections > Create Model connections screen, navigate to Connection settings > Choose a model or create a custom one field, and enter either the Model ID or Model ARN value you procured from Amazon Bedrock, as free form text.
  4. Click the add icon that displays next to the value. This adds the model to the Amazon Bedrock vendor in Automation Anywhere. This model is now available for selection and use.
    Note:

If you choose to enter the Model ARN value, ensure you point to the same region which is part of the Model ARN value in Amazon Bedrock.

For example, if the Model ARN value is aws:bedrock:us-east-1::foundation-model/anthropic.claude-3-5-sonnet-20240620-v1:0, when choosing the Model connection region in AI > Model connections > Create Model connections > Authentication details > Region field, you would choose us-east-1. This would ensure a successful Model connection testing.
