Go to next empty cell action in Apple Numbers package
The Go to next empty cell action in the Apple Numbers application allows you to move the cursor to the next empty cell from the current active or specified cell address within the table.
You can choose to search for the empty cell in any direction left, right, up, or down. If no empty cell is found in the table, the specified empty cell will be treated as the active cell.
Settings
- Use one of the following options to provide session name:
- Session name: Enter the name of the session used to open the spreadsheet with the Open action.
- Variable: Enter the session variable that you added in the Open action.
- Select the Active cell or Specified cell option to specify the cell from which to start searching for the empty cell. If you have selected the Specified cell option, specify the table name and address of the cell in the fields. For example, enter Table1 in the Table name field and then enter A5 or B10 in the Cell address field.
- Select the Left, Right, Up, or Down option to specify the direction in which to search for the next empty cell.
Note: You use Active cell or designating a cell address with
Specific cell. If the active cell or designated cell
is the first cell in the table (that is, A1) and the cursor direction is
Left or Up, then this action
will make the first cell A1 active. If the active cell or designated cell is the
last cell in the table (for example, E5 for a 5x5 table) and the cursor
direction is Right or Down, then
this action will make the last cell active. This action terminates traversal at
the first or last cell based on the selected cursor direction.
When you specify the attributes mentioned above, the action will execute by starting at the designated cell position. It will traverse the table in the specified cursor direction either (right, down, left, or up) until it finds the first empty cell or reaches the end of the table.
