Highlights of this release

Here are the top features in the v.34 release:

Create automations faster with Autopilot BPMN support
In our previous Automation 360 v.33 release, we announced Autopilot, leveraging generative AI to build automations fast. In this release (v.34), we’ve made it faster by importing your existing business process model and notation (BPMN) documents and using Autopilot to automatically create related outlines of processes and tasks, including structure and logic. This drives faster time-to-development and more value from existing BPM tools and BPMN outputs.
Note: This feature is only available to cloud customers and requires the Automator AI Platform Base license. See Automator AI Platform Base.

Use third-party RAG in AI Agent Studio for grounded automations
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) helps generative AI models create more meaningful outputs and mitigate hallucinations by using your company data to augment LLMs. With our open architecture, you can now use the RAG functionality of AWS Knowledge Base and Google Vertex AI data stores when building AI Skill templates. RAG gives AI Agents relevant knowledge to make them smarter so they can more effectively automate your key business processes, resulting in:
  • Higher productivity and efficiency, with less time spent on tedious data entry and manual data analysis.
  • Faster identification of anomalies, opportunities, and risks based on your actual data.
  • Higher return on automation by automating more complex business processes that require your data.
Note: This feature requires the Enterprise Platform license. For information about supported version for this feature, see Enterprise Platform.

Execute AI Agents faster with AI Skills support now in API Tasks
AI Agent Studio gets even better in this release with the ability to execute AI Skills in API Tasks. You get our most modern task execution infrastructure in API Tasks and faster execution of AI Agents using AI Skills. This reduces the cost and improves the performance of automations while enabling you to integrate with generative AI models in a scalable, safe, and governed manner.
Note: This feature is only available to cloud customers and requires the Enterprise Platform license. See Enterprise Platform.

Ensure responsible use of AI with analytics and governance features
With new governance features, you can now ensure responsible and compliant use of AI. Code analysis enhancements allow you to monitor and enforce your AI use policy with user notifications for immediate remediation before check-in. New AI dashboards provide complete visibility on usage, and AI analytics provide real-time data to contain and remediate any incidents quickly.
Note: This feature requires the Enterprise Platform license. For information about supported version for this feature, see Enterprise Platform.

Direct scheduling of automations is now faster and easier
Schedule process automations in less time and with less effort using new process first capabilities that enable direct scheduling of processes. This eliminates the need to create shell bots for scheduling and creates a more intuitive, user-friendly interface that enables you to focus on driving value, adoption, and productivity through automation.

See Schedule process automation | Run process automation.

Track real-time value gains from API Tasks with new analytics dashboards
Real-time dashboards in CoE Manager show the savings realized through API Tasks. This is a one-click way to view the automation's time and cost benefits, which you can then easily share with your organization.

Automate modern web applications that use the ShadowDOM web standard
For developers, this release supports object-based automation of modern web application (for example, ServiceNow, Salesforce) components that use the ShadowDOM standard. Universal Recorder powered automation provides a streamlined user experience and minimizes the risk of automation failures in such applications. Newly introduced CSS selectors will also improve the reliability of all types of web-based automation.
Note: This feature is available in Recorder package version 3.3.1-20241001-095119 and later. See Recorder package updates.
Meet regional compliance requirements with new data sovereignty options for Document Automation
Document Automation puts generative AI to work to process documents at scale accurately, but which can become complex as your organization works and automates across the globe. You can now select specific regions for generative AI services to ensure compliance with local data sovereignty rules and regulations. Beyond just US and EU regions, there’s now more flexibility and control to specify Australia, Canada, Japan, and India for generative AI processing.
