Insert cell action in Microsoft 365 Excel

Use the Insert cell action in Microsoft 365 Excel to insert a value to an active cell or a specific cell in the current worksheet without overwriting the existing value.

Settings

  • Enter the name of the session used to open the workbook with the Open action.
  • Select either Active cell or Specific cell. If you select Specific cell, enter the cell location, for example A1.
  • After inserting the cell, you can perform these operations:
    • Shift cell > Down: Shifts the existing values down by the specified number of rows.
    • Shift cell > Right: Shifts the existing values right by the specified number of columns.
