Supported authentication methods for Automation 360 Cloud

The Cloud Control Room instances support two authentication methods: database authentication (default) and SAML-based authentication via identity provider (IdP) integration.

  • Database authentication: This is the default authentication option managed by the Control Room.

For new installation of the Control Room on Cloud deployments, the default authentication method is the database authentication. Existing deployments, which are already configured with SAML authentication using an IdP can continue using the SAML authentication option. For more information, see Configure Control Room authentication options and Configure Control Room database.

  • SAML-based authentication: This authentication method can be configured through IdP integration. Users have the option to switch from the default database authentication to SAML-based authentication through IdP integration. SAML-based authentication enables users to log in one time and access multiple applications without needing to re-enter credentials by integrating with an IdP for Single Sign-On (SSO.) For more information, see Set up SAML authentication.
