Control Room administrators can configure automatic update of Bot Agent to the latest version. This reduces any possible downtime by eliminating the need for individual users to log into Control Room for updates. This auto-update feature streamlines the process, ensuring that all connected devices receive updates efficiently.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you log in to Control Room as an administrator or a user with administrative privileges.

Automatic update of Bot Agent is based on the following dependencies:
  • The type of Automation 360 deployment that you are currenrly using such as On-Premises or Cloud.
  • All the available user devices are connected to the Control Room.
  • Bot Agent update is set to manual for On-Premises by default to provide control to users on the Bot Agent update.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Administration > Settings > Devices.
  2. Click Edit in the Bot agent software section.
  3. Select one of the following options for Bot Agent updates:
    • Auto update optional and mandatory
      Automatically update the Bot Agent for both required and optional updates. During the update, new bot deployments on the Bot Runner user devices are queued.
      Note: An alert is displayed in the Notifications section of the Control Room when there is a change in the major, minor or patch version of the latest Bot Agent.
    • Auto update mandatory updates only

      Automatically update Bot Agent only for required updates. During the update, new bot deployments on the Bot Runner user devices are queued.

    • Disable auto updates

      Select this option in order to disable automatic update of Bot Agent.

  4. Click Save changes.
    The auto update settings for Bot Agent is saved. You can verify the Bot Agent version and device connection in the Devices page of the Control Room.
