Configuring Microsoft Outlook (macOS) Email trigger

The Microsoft Outlook (macOS) Email trigger enables you to start a bot when the connected Microsoft Outlook mailbox receives an email in macOS system. You can configure the trigger based on the default Outlook mailbox of the macOS system or a specific Outlook mailbox.

Overview

The Microsoft Outlook (macOS) Email trigger allows you to define the interval and conditions, based on which the trigger starts the automation. You can set the time intervals based on seconds or minutes. The trigger captures the response data in a record variable in a key-value pair format. You can use the data captured in the record variable in the subsequent automation workflow within the session.

Settings

The following settings are available in this trigger:

Mailbox
Specify the email address of the Microsoft Outlook mailbox. If you want to configure the trigger based on the default mailbox of the macOS bot runner machine, you can leave this field empty.
Check every
Specify the trigger interval time. The trigger checks the mailbox based on the time interval that you define in this field. The minimum time interval is 120 seconds.
Select conditions
Select the required check box and specify appropriate conditions based on which the trigger must start the bot. The following conditions are available:
  • Email from: Specify the email address of the sender. You can enter multiple email addresses using a semi-colon as separator. This field does not support wildcard characters.
  • Email subject contains: Specify words that may be available in the subject field of the email. This field does not support wildcard characters.
  • Email attachment: Select With attachment or Without attachment as the condition.
  • Email in Folder: Specify the folder path of a folder within the Inbox folder. The trigger starts the automation only when the specified folder receives the email.
Note: If you do not specify any conditions, the trigger starts the automation as soon as the mailbox receives an email.
Assign to Record
Select a record variable to capture the trigger response data. You can use an existing variable or create a variable using the Create variable option. The record variable captures trigger response data in a key-value pair format. The trigger generates the following keys when the bot is run:
  • emailFrom: This key captures the email address of the sender.
  • emailTo: This key captures the email address of the receiver.
  • emailSubject: This key captures the subject line of the email.
  • emailMessage: This key captures the email body text.
  • emailReceivedDate: This key captures the received date on which the mailbox receives the email.
  • action: This key captures the information about the action.
