Configure and assign code analysis policy

As an administrator or a user with view and manage policy permissions, you can configure multiple named policies to define coding best practices to improve the reliability of automations by reducing errors.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have the following permissions:
  • View policies
  • Manage policies
These permissions allow you to view, edit, and assign policies that define how developers can build automations. They also allow the assignment of policies to folders for which you have access.

Procedure

  • Create policies in the Policies tab.
    1. In the Control Room, navigate to Administration > Policies.
    2. Select the Policies tab.
    3. Select the Create policy icon at the top of the policies table.
    4. Enter a meaningful name for the policy.
    5. Optional: Enter a descriptive comment for the policy.
    6. Select the rules for your automation files (Task Bot and API Tasks). In the Rules section, use the on and off slider in the rule tiles to turn on and configure one or more rules for your respective automation files.
    7. Select the Severity as either Low or High to highlight the criticality of the rule.
    8. Click Save changes to create the policy.
