Templates - Known behaviors

Review some of the known behaviors when using the template feature.

  • You can create templates only from Task Bot. Creating templates from Forms and Process Composer are currently not supported.
  • On the Automation page, when you select the Task Bot from Template option, the Create Task Bot from Template window will display templates only if they are already published in the public workspace.
  • When you create and save a template with empty properties, an error icon is not displayed as the system allows you to save a template without adding any property value.
  • Run and Schedule options do not apply to templates.
  • When you export and import templates from one Control Room to another, the description of the templates is not retained.
  • You cannot use the following capabilities in templates as they are not currently supported: Clone, move, setting production label, compare versions, code analysis, and Bot insight.
  • You create automation from a template that has pre-filled properties, and if you navigate to the private workspace without making any changes to the automation, you will see the automation highlights the error icon, and when you click the actions menu (vertical ellipsis), the Check in Task Bot will not be visible to use.

    Workaround : When you create an automation from a template that has pre-filled properties, ensure you edit the automation and save it.
