Discovery Bot end-of-life (EOL) FAQ
Automation Anywhere is announcing end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support for Discovery Bot. Customers with active support contracts will continue to receive support for critical security issues from Automation Anywhere through the duration of the EOL window starting from November 2024 till November 2025.
- What does end-of-life (EOL) mean?
-
- When Discovery Bot reaches EOL in November 2025, product updates and enhancements will not be offered to customers.
- Discovery Bot will no longer be available for use by customers within their Control Room environments. Additionally, any desktop sensors will not be able to capture and send processes to customer Cloud environments.
- At the end of the EOL period, Discovery Bot will be removed from all product documentation, community forums, marketing material, and other support portals and pages.
- What does this mean for my Discovery Bot renewal?
- Customers currently entitled for Discovery Bot will no longer
be able to renew the Discovery Bot license independently or
as part of a bundle after the EOL date. Note: Work with your Customer Support Manager or Account Team to discuss your renewal options for Discovery Bot.
- Can I purchase Discovery Bot between now and the EOL date?
- No new purchases of Discovery Bot will be possible after the EOL announcement.
- I have a Discovery Bot entitlement, so why am I not able to access Discovery Bot in my Cloud Control Room?
- Customers who have not registered active Discovery Bot usage have been placed in a paused status. If you want to access your Discovery Bot instance, submit a support ticket via Automation AnywhereSupport: Open a support case (A-People login required) (which you can do till the last day of the EOL period).
- Once the product reaches EOL, will it still operate and function as it currently does?
-
- For all customers, product support will end for Discovery Bot after it reaches EOL in November 2025. After this date, customers will no longer be able to log Support cases via A-People, and nor will any enhancements or fixes be offered.
- For Discovery Bot Cloud customers, your instances will not be accessible after the EOL date and Cloud services cannot be renewed or extended after the EOL date.
- For On-Premises Discovery Bot customers, your Discovery Bot instances will continue to work until the License Server key expiration, even if that date is beyond the November 2025 EOL date. During this extended period, while the product will technically function, customers will not be able to receive any product support or enhancements.
- What happens to the data recorded by Discovery Bot after EOL?
- All Discovery Bot data is stored in customer-instances and will remain there until the termination of customer contract.
- Can I extract my data?
- Yes, a customer can request an export of relevant Discovery Bot data by creating a support ticket via A-People login.
- Support for SLA post EOL announcement
- Standard support levels apply for Discovery Bot till the EOL date. After that, Support as well as help documentation will no longer be available.
- Product Maintenance Plan during EOL window
- Discovery Bot will receive all required critical security updates and patches by Automation Anywhere till the EOL date, after which no additional updates will be provided.
