Set cell formula action
The Set cell formula action enables you to set a formula in the active cell or a specific cell in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or a CSV file.
To generate a random number, use the action. See Random action.
Settings
- Select one of the following options from Set formula for to
specify the cell where you want to set the formula:
- Active cell
- Specific cell
If you have selected the Specific cell option, specify the address of the cell in the field.
- In the Enter formula for specific cell field, enter the
formula that you want to apply.Note: Ensure that you enter the exact syntax for the formula as required by Microsoft Excel in the cell, including all required parts. For example, =SUM(A1:A10).
- Always start the formula with an equals sign (=).
- Include all required parameters, ranges, and functions as per Excel standards.
- Incorrect or partial formulas are not completed or auto-corrected, and the provided string is passed to Excel.
- Use the Session name to select one of the following tabs for
providing the session name:
- Session name
Enter the name of the session used to open the workbook with the Open action.
- Variable
Is the Excel advanced session from Set session variable action or from parent automation.
