Document Automation users
- Updated: 2025/08/22
Users with specific roles, permissions, and licenses can perform various tasks within the system, as defined in the Administration tab. The document outlines user types, their tasks, required roles, and licenses, providing guidance on user creation and role customization.
The following table contains information about each type of user that interacts with Document Automation. It includes a description of the tasks that each user performs, the required roles, permissions, and licenses, and links to the pages most relevant to that user. Use this page to guide you in creating the users in the table below: Create a Windows device user
- Some users require a custom role in Document Automation. This role grants users permissions to check in and check out bots, manage packages, and validate documents. For instructions on how to create a custom role, see Create a custom role for Document Automation.
- Automation 360 supports custom role creation by allowing all permissions to be non-default and editable. However, for releases before version v30, system-created roles such as, AAE_Admin are mandatory. For more information, see System-created roles.
