Private repository operations

You can perform various repository operations on both AI Agents and AI Agent templates within the Control Room. These operations let you move, copy, check in, or maintain versions of AI Agents and templates across private and public workspaces.

You can access repository operations for both AI Agents and AI Agent templates from the ellipsis menu () in the Automation 360 Automation page. These actions allow you to organize, edit, and maintain AI assets in your private or public workspace.

The following table lists all operations available for AI Agents and AI Agent templates in the private workspace.

Action Function
Move AI Agent / AI Agent template Opens a dialog to browse and select a destination folder. Click Choose to move the selected asset. The item is copied to the destination folder and removed from the source folder.
Check in AI Agent / AI Agent template Opens the Check in window. Enter a comment and click Check in to move the asset to the public workspace. Dependencies that are directly referenced are checked in automatically.
View AI Agent / AI Agent template Displays the selected asset in view-only mode. You can review the configuration but cannot make edits.
Edit AI Agent / AI Agent template Opens the selected item in edit mode. This action is available only to users with edit permissions such as the Automation Admin.
Copy AI Agent / AI Agent template Opens a modal where you can specify a Name for the copy. Optionally, click Browse to choose a destination folder, and click Copy to duplicate the item.
View dependencies and references (Private workspace) Opens a modal with two tabs:
  • Dependencies: Lists child files that depend on the AI Agent or template.
  • References: Lists parent assets that reference the AI Agent or template.
Delete AI Agent / AI Agent template Displays a confirmation message before deletion. Once confirmed, the asset is permanently removed. This action is available only to users with Automation Admin privileges.

Public repository operations

The following table lists all operations available for AI Agents and AI Agent templates in the public workspace.

Action Function
Check out AI Agent / AI Agent template Lets you check out one or more assets along with their dependencies. You must have Cancel checkout and View content permissions to undo another user’s checkout. These permissions are not required for private workspace checkouts.
Clone AI Agent / AI Agent template Creates a read-only copy of the selected asset in the private workspace. You cannot edit a cloned file. To modify it, either make a copy or check out the original asset.
Label AI Agent / AI Agent template Assigns a production label to a specific version of the AI Agent or template. Labels help identify which version to export or promote. The asset must be checked into the public workspace, and you must have the Label bots permission.
Export AI Agent / AI Agent template Exports the selected asset from the public repository to an external environment. You can export multiple AI Agents or templates simultaneously. A confirmation message is displayed after the export completes.
Submit to Bot Store Allows users with Bot Store permissions to submit AI Agent templates directly to the Bot Store folder in the public workspace. This option opens the Submit to Bot Store page, where you can upload and publish the template. The submission event is recorded in the audit log.
Tip: The Submit to Bot Store action appears only when the AI Agent template is located in the Bot Store folder under the Public workspace. To make it available there:
  1. In the Private workspace, use Move AI Agent template to move the template to the Bot Store folder.
  2. Then, check in the template to publish it to the Public → Bot Store folder.
  3. Once checked in, open the ellipsis () menu and select Submit to Bot Store… to upload it to the Bot Store.
View history Displays the version history modal for the selected AI Agent or template. This modal lists all checked-in versions, comments, and metadata. Only available from the public workspace.
View dependencies and references (Public workspace) Opens a modal displaying both Dependencies and References tabs, listing related assets that depend on or refer to the AI Agent or template. This action is available in both public and private workspaces.

Notes and permissions

  • These operations are available to users with either a Bot Creator or Citizen Developer license.
  • You must have appropriate permissions such as Check in, Check out, Edit, or Label bots, depending on the action.
  • Automation Admins have additional privileges, such as editing and deleting public assets.
  • AI Agent templates follow the same repository structure, permissions, and dependency rules as AI Agents.
