When you test data extraction using different settings, you might want to compare the results to find out which setting gives the best results.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that you are using the Learning instance creator user to log in to the Control Room. See Document Automation users.
  • Ensure that the learning instance has at least two or more versions.
The following are some of the benefits of comparing results of extracted data from different versions of a learning instance:
  • Identifying optimal configuration: Using different settings such as OCR, generative AI provider, generative AI prompts, form and field rules, and validation feedback might give different data extraction results. Comparing these results helps you choose the best setting.
  • Fine-tuning configuration: You can adjust the settings of a learning instance to make data extraction more accurate and efficient by comparing results.
  • Data validation and verification: By comparing data extraction results, you can validate and confirm the accuracy of the extracted data from different versions.

Procedure

  1. Log in to your Control Room.
  2. Navigate to AI > Document Automation.
  3. Select a learning instance.
  4. Click Process.
  5. In the Process Documents window, click Browse to select the files to upload.

The Learning instance version field displays the version that will be used to process the uploaded documents. If you want to select a different version, click the Cancel button, select a different version from the drop-down menu next to the learning instance name, and click Process.

Note: Documents with file names exceeding 149 characters will display an error during processing. Ensure that the file names remain below the 150-character limit.
  6. Click Process Documents.
  7. After the document is processed, click View status.
  8. On the Requests page, click the request that processed the document.
  9. In the validation window, select a version from the version history drop-down with which you want to compare the extracted results.
  10. Click Process now.
After the document is processed, you will see the three dots (three dots menu icon) icon appear at the upper-right corner of the screen.
Note: For each version you want to compare, you must select the version and process the document before comparing results. Data extraction will not be available on the Compare versions page for the documents that were not processed.
  11. Click the three dots (three dots menu icon) icon and click Compare versions.
By default, the current version of the document appears on the right side of the page and its previous version of the document appears on the left side of the page. If you want to select a different version or if you have processed a document for a different version, select the right version from the drop-down to compare the extracted results.
