Automation Anywhere templates

We provide pre-built (built-in) templates for you to choose from depending on your business requirements. A pre-built template is a predesigned flow that helps you speed up automation development when used as a starting point in building new automations.

Pre-built templates simplify the process of creating automation and accelerate and scale the automation across your organization. The following lists some of the available sample templates:
  • Create an insurance quote in Salesforce: Quickly build process automation to generate a property insurance quote inside Salesforce with email confirmation generated using an AI agent.
  • Handle a warehouse goods receipt shipment in SAP: Automate the goods receipts against a purchase order process in SAP with approvals for over or under-shipped item quantities done in Microsoft Teams
  • Leverage AI Agents for the auto loan pre-approval process: Automate the auto loan pre-approval for a dealer from a bank with the help of multiple AI agents to make recommendations combining data from LLMs and enterprise knowledgebases.

Import pre-built templates

As a registered user of Bot Store, you can log in to Bot Store from the Control Room and download templates to your Control Room repository.

Starting from Automation 360 v.33, pre-built templates are automatically downloaded and do not require manual intervention of importing from the Bot Store. With this seamless auto-download capability, developers will quickly receive a collection of pre-built templates in the Bot Store folder designed for common use cases from Automation Anywhere.
Note: The automatic download of templates is expected to start approximately after an hour of update to Automation 360 v.33 or after installing the latest version (A360 v.33) of the Control Room.
Important: To import templates to the Control Room, ensure you add the following URLs to the allowed list.
  • Domain URL: https://aai-botstore-preapproved-bots.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com
  • Zip file URL: https://aai-botstore-preapproved-bots.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/template/Export.<date time>.zip

    For example, https://aai-botstore-preapproved-bots.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/template/Export.20240213_150702.admin10.zip

Ensure the following before you import templates to the Control Room:
  • You must have valid Bot Store credentials to access Bot Store from the Control Room.
  • You must have the following permissions to import pre-built templates to your public workspace:
    • Add bots from Bot Store to My Bots
    • Create folders
    • Import bots
    • View packages
    • View Bot Store
    • View my bots
    • Access to Bots folder with View content and Check in permission.
Perform the following steps if you want to manually import the templates from the Bot Store:
  1. Log in to the Control Room.
  2. Click the Bot Store tab.
  3. Log in using your Bot Store credentials.
  4. Click Add pre-built templates from Automation Anywhere in the Bot Store tab.

The Import Automation Anywhere templates screen appears.

  5. Click Continue to download the templates to the public workspace of your Control Room.
Note: If a pre-built template with the same name and path already exists in the public workspace, it will be skipped.
  6. Navigate to Public workspace > Bot Store .

All the pre-built templates are displayed. Depending on the permissions, you can perform various operations on templates such as check-out, clone, view, and delete.

Recommendation: When you check out templates from the public workspace to the private workspace, we recommend not modifying the template. Instead, you can create a copy of the template to work on it.

Using the pre-built templates

When pre-built templates are automatically downloaded to the public workspace, the Professional or a Citizen developer can choose a template and quickly build automation without re-creating the automation from the start, thereby saving time.

When you choose From template option to build automation, you can view all available templates shipped by Automation Anywhere or custom templates in the template picker window.
Note: If the templates are already imported in the previous version (Automation 360 v.32) and you update to Automation 360 v.33, it will skip the update process and not show the Automation Anywhere icon and the template description on the Create from template page. However, you can delete all the existing pre-built templates from the Bot Store folder and manually re-import them to the Control Room to see the description and icon displayed on the Create from template page.
