Send channel message action in the Slack package
The Send channel message action enables you to automatically send a message to a specific Slack channel. This enables teams to share updates, notifications, alerts, or important information in real time without manual intervention, improving communication.
Settings
- Use the Session name field to select one of the following
options:
- Session name: Enter the name of the session used
during the Connect
action.
(Optional) Click the Insert a value icon to select an existing variable that you have used to store the default session name.
- Variable: Enter the name of the variable that you have used to store the Slack session name.
- Session name: Enter the name of the session used
during the Connect
action.
- Specify channel by: Select one of the following options to identify
the channel:
- Channel ID: Specify the Slack channel ID. See Get channel ID by name action
- Channel Name: Specify the Slack channel name.
- Message: Specify the text message that you want to send.
- Assign message ID to a variable: Create or choose a String variable to store the posted message ID or timestamp.
