Prepare your On-Premises environment to operate with offline licenses. This is a one-time setup per On-Premises Control Room that does not need to be repeated for subsequent license renewals or changes.

Prerequisites

  • An On-Premises Control Room running version v.40 or later is installed and operational.
  • Your organization has a valid business justification for offline licensing (air-gaped environment, regulated industry, or restricted internet connectivity).
  • You have access to the CALM portal through a system with internet connectivity.

Procedure

  1. Install the On-Premises Control Room: Install your On-Premises Control Room using version v.40 or later. Follow the standard On-Premises installation process as documented in the Installing Control Room On-Premises.
  2. Download the enablement token from CALM: After your account is approved, do the following:
    1. Log in to the CALM portal.
    2. Under Manage Cloud Licenses, click Download Token.Download token file from CALM
Note: The enablement token is valid for 24 hours from the time of download. You must install it on the Control Room within this window to enable it for offline licensing.
  3. Install the enablement token on the Control Room:
    1. Login to Automation 360 On-Premises Control Room.
    2. Navigate to the Administration > Licenses  page.
    3. Select Upgrade to Cloud licensing. Upgrade to Cloud licensing
Note: Despite the label, this option is the entry point for both standard Cloud licensing and offline licensing. The system determines which path you are on based on what you provide in the next step - a license GUID routes to Cloud licensing, while the offline token routes to offline licensing.
    4. Copy and paste the content of the downloaded token (from Step 2) and click Install license. Enter token
    5. Review the confirmation message and click Accept.

Your Control Room is now enabled for offline licensing and is ready to generate License File Requests. For the next step, see Request and install an offline license

You can repeat the same process to update the token in an event if the generated token is lost or a wrong token was mistakenly installed on the Control Room.
