If your network environment changes and internet connectivity become available from the Control Room, you can transition from offline licensing to GUID-based cloud licensing.

To transition, install the GUID license on the Control Room through the license management interface. Once cloud licensing is activated, the offline license is dismissed, and the Control Room begins operating in connected mode.

Note: Rollback from Cloud licensing to offline licensing is a support-assisted process and is not self-serve. 

After the switch, the Control Room starts using real-time communication with the Cloud license server for heartbeats, entitlement updates, and license enforcement. The previously installed offline license file is no longer used for license decisions after the Control Room is back in Cloud mode.

Use the steps below to switch from offline licensing model to Cloud licensing model.

Procedure

  1. Login to Automation 360 On-Premises Control Room.
  2. Navigate to the Administration > Licenses  page.
  3. Select Upgrade to Cloud licensing.
  4. Enter the license GUID and click Install license. Enter the GUID
  5. Review the confirmation message and click Accept.
