The Find and replace picture action enables you to find pictures by alt title in a presentation or a specific slide and optionally replaces them with another image. Use it to update logos, product images, or branded visuals.

Settings

  • Session name: Select one of the following options:
    • Session name: Enter the name of the session used during the Open action.

      (Optional) Click the Insert a value icon to select an existing variable that you have used to store the default session name.

    • Variable: Enter the name of the variable that you have used to store the PowerPoint session name.
  • Alt title: Specify the alt title of the picture to search for.
  • Range: Select one of the following options to specify the scope of search:
    • Full presentation: Searches and replaces picture across all slides.
    • Specific slide: Searches only within the selected slide. Specify the slide index number to replace the picture on that slide.
  • Replace picture: Select one of the following options to select a picture you want to replace with:
    • Variable: Enables you to open a file by specifying a file variable.
    • Control Room file: Enables you to open a file from the Control Room.
    • Desktop file: Enables you to select the file from your local device using one of the following options:
      • Specific path: Enter the file path, select a string variable that contains the file path as its value, or use Browse option to upload it directly.
      • Regex: In the Folder path field, click the Browse button to select a path or click the Insert a value icon to select a variable that you have used to store the path for the PowerPoint file.

        File name: Defines the name of the presentation file using regex components allowing you to construct the file name dynamically.

        Type: Specify the type of input used to build the file name. For example, String which can be a static or a variable text.

        Value: Specify the actual content of the file name. For example,
        • Static value: Report
        • Dynamic value using variables: Report_$Date$

        Case sensitive: Select this option to treat the uppercase and lowercase letters differently.

        Add Regex: Enables you to add multiple pattern segments to construct a complex file name.

    Note: The following formats are supported: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif, and .svg.
  • Alt text: Specify the new alt title for the replaced picture
  • Width: Specify the width of the replaced picture in centimeters.
  • Height: Specify the height of the replaced picture in centimeters.
  • Picture occurrence: Select which among the following instances of the picture you want to replace:
    • All occurrences: Replaces every occurrence of the picture in the chosen range.
    • First occurrence: Replaces only the first occurrence found.
    • Last occurrence: Replaces only the last occurrence found.
  • Lock aspect ratio: Select this option to ensure that the image keeps its original proportions while resizing.
  • Assign output to variable: Create or choose a Number variable to store the number of matched or processed picture occurrences.
