Generate a License File Request (LFR) from your Control Room, upload it to CALM, and install the resulting Offline License File (OLF) to activate your license entitlements.

Prerequisites

  • You have completed the one-time setup described in Set up your Control Room for offline licensing.
  • The enablement token is installed on the Control Room.
  • You have access to the CALM portal through a system with internet connectivity.

Procedure

  1. Generate a License File Request (LFR):
    1. From the Control Room, navigate to the Administration > Licenses  page.
    2. Click Manage offline licenses on the top menu. Manage offline licenses
    3. Click Generate and download offline license request.
    Note:
    • A new LFR must be created for every operation such as initial license allocation, re-configuration or at renewal, or up-sell events.
    • The OLF must be installed within 7 days of the first LFR generation for that cycle, and within 48 hours of the most recent LFR generation. If the OLF is not installed within the 7-day window, the Control Room gets locked.
    • Within the 7-day window, you can regenerate the LFR multiple times (for example, if the file is lost or a configuration change is needed). However, each new LFR invalidates all previously generated LFRs. Only the most recent LFR can be used to generate an OLF on CALM.
    • The 7-day window is counted from the time the first LFR in that cycle was generated, regardless of how many times you regenerate it.
    • Once the OLF is installed, the cycle is complete. To make further changes (such as adding licenses or adjusting allocation), start a new cycle by generating a new LFR.
  2. Upload the LFR to CALM:
    1. Go to the CALM site.
    2. Under Control Room GUIDs, click the entry for the On-Premises Control Room.
    3. In the Step 1: License File Request Upload section, click Upload LFR.Upload LFR file in CALM
    4. Upload the most recent LFR file generated in the Control Room.
  3. Generate the offline license file:
    1. Once the LFR is validated, go to Step 2: License Allocation section and click Configure License.Configure license details
    2. Set the Start Date and End date for this license file:
      • The Start Date should be today’s date.
      • The End Date should be between today’s date and the End Date value shown at the top in the License Details section. You cannot select a date beyond this value.License end date details
    3. Under the Licenses section, select the licenses and the quantities to be included in this license file.
    4. Click Generate and Download License File.

CALM validates the LFR and generates a signed Offline License File (OLF) containing your requested license entitlements and the validity period.

  4. Download and install the OLF:
    1. From the Control Room, navigate to the Administration > Licenses  page.
    2. Click Manage offline licenses on the top menu.
    3. Click Browse and select the downloaded offline license file. Upload license file
    4. Click Install offline license file.

Once installed, the OLF becomes the Control Room's sole source of license authority. Bots and users consume licenses as usual, but no live calls are made to the Cloud license server. Consumption data is tracked locally using an encrypted, tamper-proof mechanism.

    Note:
    • The OLF generated by CALM must be installed within 48 hours of the most recent LFR generation.
    • License details, status, and expiry date are now visible in the Administration > Licenses page.
    • Installing a new OLF automatically deactivates the previous one. The Control Room always enforces the entitlements defined in the most recently installed OLF.

The licensing cycle is now complete. Offline license file is now installed in your On-Premises Control Room. To make additional changes (renewal, up-sell, or reconfiguration), start a new cycle.
