Privacy Enhancement Gateway 3.3.20 release

Review what's new and changed, and the fixes and limitations in Process Discovery for the 3.3.20 release.

What's new

This release improves data anonymization processes by ensuring a uniform approach across multiple images. Improvements deliver consistency in anonymization and cross-system synchronization.

New interface for user creation and scope permissions

A new interface has been introduced to PEG Admin, enabling administrators to easily create new, add, modify, and delete users as project requirements evolve. This permission control provides flexibility without compromising security and delivers seamless user onboarding and data-specific access management to streamline the user experience for a target scope.

Administrators can now select and assign scopes to each user. This ensures within PEG, users only access applications and data relevant to assigned projects. The focused scope enhances productivity for users by ensuring they have access to only those tools and data relevant to role and function.

System-generated anonymization

PEG now supports the generation of anonymized values that remain consistent for identical inputs. This ensures uniformity and consistency in anonymized data across multiple images in a single PEG instance.

For example, if the input francis@company.com is anonymized to <EMAIL_ADRESS 1> , any future anonymization requests for francis@company.com will always generate the same output (<EMAIL_ADRESS 1> ).

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) tag management (anonymize, redact, allow)

Administrators can now manage PIIs more efficiently using predefined PII tags. Admin users can choose how PEG should treat these tags by selecting:
  • Anonymize: Convert PII into a consistent, non-identifiable format using the system-generated anonymization feature.
  • Redact: Mask or hide sensitive PII from view.
  • Allow: Permit the display of the PII without alteration.

These options provide greater control over how sensitive information is handled and protected. Results of these actions can be viewed directly from the RTR (Real-Time Redaction), providing transparency and ease of access for data management.

Paddle OCR (Optical Character Recognition) now available for English language

Previously a preview feature, Paddle OCR is now generally available, delivering enhanced capabilities with improved accuracy and performance. Additionally, significant improvements have been made to detection algorithms, ensuring more precise and reliable text recognition for English language content.
