The Copy file action enables you to create a duplicate of a specified file in a chosen location within Box. This action is helpful because it allows users to efficiently back up, share, or organize files without manually downloading and re-uploading them, streamlining file management in their automation workflows

Settings

  • Use the Session name field to select one of the following options:
    • Session name: Enter the name of the session used during Connect action.

      (Optional) Click the Insert a value icon to select an existing variable that you have used to store the default session name.

    • Variable: Enter the name of the variable that you have used to store the session name.
  • Source file ID: Specify the Box file ID of the source file to copy.
  • Destination folder ID: Specify the Box folder ID where the file is copied.
  • New file name (Optional): Optionally specify a new name for the copied file. If left empty, the original name is used.
  • Overwrite file if exists (Optional): Specify whether to overwrite a same-named file in the destination folder.
  • Assign output to a variable: Create or choose a String variable to store the copied file ID.
