Use the Find and replace text action to find text within a specific Word document and then replace one or more occurrences with other text.

Settings

  • Use the Session name field to click one of the following options to provide session name:
    • Session name: Enter the name that you gave the session when you opened it.
    • Variable: Select the variable that you have created to store the session name.
  • Enter the text you want to find in the Find text field.
    Maximum length currently supported is up to 256 characters.
    Note: Ensure that your search terms does not include any wildcard characters.
  • (Optional) Use the Search criteria field to select following options:
    • Match Case: Select this check box to make the search case-sensitive.
    • Match whole words: Select this check box to match only whole words in the search text.
    • Click the Range drop-down menu to specify the range within the document to search, such as:
      • Full document: Search for text from the entire document.

        This is the default setting.

      • Page number: Search for text from the specified page number in the document.
      • Paragraph index: Search for text from the paragraph at the specified index in the document.
  • (Optional) Click the Replace text check box to select the search text occurrences based on the following options:
    • All occurrences: All occurrences of the text.

      This is the default setting.

    • First occurrence: Only the very first occurrence of the text you are searching.
    • Last occurrence: Only the very last occurrence of the text you are searching.
  • (Optional) Click the Assigned to drop-down menu to select a variable to store the number of occurrences found.

    If you have not created a variable, click the Create variable icon.
