After you build an automation in Control Room, you require Bot Agent to run that automation. Use your macOS device to download Bot Agent from Control Room.

Review the following notes before installing Bot Agent on your macOS device:
  • Starting from Automation 360 v.38 release, you can register your default macOS device using the Safari browser for Cloud deployment.

As Safari browser is currently not supported for registering your default device on On-Premises deployment, ensure that you use Google Chrome to register your device on Control Room.

  • Ensure that you have Control Room administrator account in order to download and install Bot Agent.
  • The Bot Agent installer is downloaded as a .pkg file.

When you download Bot Agent for the first time on your macOS device, a user's consent screen is displayed. Ensure that you click Open in order to download the Bot Agent .pkg file.

  • Ensure that you grant Bot Agent access to the following applications and permissions during Bot Agent installation by navigating to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy:
    • Accessibility

Controls the macOS device for deploying automations (such as mouse and keyboard control).

    • AutoLoginAgent
If you intend to use auto-login or unattended automation, ensure that you grant these permissions to AutoLoginAgent.
Note: AutoLoginAgent might be listed separately in the macOS permissions dialogs.
    • Automation

To automate tasks within other applications (such as browser, Microsoft Office, and so on).

    • Full Disk Access

Access files and folders across your system as needed for automation.

    • Java

If your automations interact with Java applications on macOS, ensure that you grant the same permissions as you have for the Bot Agent and AutoLoginAgent.

    • Screen Recording

Capture screenshots or interact with on-screen elements.

  • The date and time of your macOS device is in sync with the current date and time of Control Room so that the device registration is successful.
  • Review the following table to understand the default location of Bot Agent related downloads in macOS device:
    Name Default location
