The Create shared link action enables you to generate a shareable link for a specific file or folder in Box with configurable access level, permissions, and optional expiration. This allows you to easily share access to Box content with others, both inside and outside the organization, without needing to manually generate links.

Settings

  • Use the Session name field to select one of the following options:
    • Session name: Enter the name of the session used during Connect action.

      (Optional) Click the Insert a value icon to select an existing variable that you have used to store the default session name.

    • Variable: Enter the name of the variable that you have used to store the session name.
  • Target type: Specify whether the shared link is created for a file or folder.
  • File/Folder ID: Specify the Box file ID or folder ID to share.
  • Access level: Specify the shared link access level. It is set to Open by default. You can select the following values: Open, company, and collaborators.
  • Can download (Optional): Specify whether you want to download the shared item.
  • Can preview (Optional): Specify whether you can preview the shared item.
  • Link expiration (Optional): Specify whether you want to enable link expiration.
  • Assign output to a variable: Create or choose a String variable to store the shared link.
