Edit email notifications

You can edit the email settings to select scenarios in which a Control Room sends email notifications.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you are logged in to the Control Room as the administrator.

Specify details about the email server you want to use and the events when the email notification must be sent. To configure Email settings, perform these steps:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Administration > Settings > Email.
  2. Click the Edit icon. (edit-icon)
  3. Select Send email notifications.
    By default, the email notifications are disabled. You might choose not to send a verification ("Welcome") to the created/edited users.
  4. Specify the details of the server that you want to use to send email notifications.

    From this email address Enter the email address that you want to use to send email notifications.
    Email server host Specify the email server that you want to use to send email notifications.
    Email server port Specify the email port that you want to use to send email notifications.
    My server uses a secure connection (SSL/TLS) Select the option if the server uses a secured connection.
    My server requires authentication Select the option if the server requires credentials for access, such as for an external credential vault.

    Specify the Username and Password that you want to use to access the server.

    Specify the credentials.
    External Key Vault Specify the HashiCorp secret name to retrieve the credentials.
    Important: The options to specify or modify the email server details are available only for the On-Premises deployment.
  5. Select the required event for which you want to receive the email notification.
    • User initiates Forgot Password process from Login screen: When a user clicks the Forgot Password option on the login screen
    • User information changes, to the user: When a user's information is updated
    • A user is activated, deactivated or deleted, to the user: When a user is enabled, disabled, or deleted
    • A Task Bot stops running because it is unsuccessful, to the user who started or scheduled it: When a Task Bot execution is unsuccessful
    • A BLM package is exported or imported, to the user who performed BLM export or import: When a BLM packagepackage is imported or exported
    • A checkin process fails : When a check-in process fails
    • A schedule run is missed or automation doesn’t run to schedule creator: When a scheduled run fails to execute because of a Control Room shutdown
    • A consumer added to a locker: When a locker administrator adds a consumer to a locker.
    • A consumer removed from a locker: When a locker administrator removes a consumer from a locker.
    • A compliance report has been generated to, the user who requested the report: When a compliance report is generated
    Important: If the Require verification option is not selected, an email notification without verification link is sent to the specified email ID. You can log in to the Control Room without verifying the email ID and setting the login credentials.
  6. Click Save changes.
