Upgrade to a higher 11.x version

Upgrade from the current version of Control Room to a higher version using the Enterprise Control Room installer.

Note: Before you upgrade to a higher 11.x version, ensure that the Workload Queues does not have any pending jobs. Also ensure that there are no scheduled activities that are configured to run, during the upgrade downtime.

You are notified through A-people when Automation Anywhere releases an upgrade. There are two types of Control Room upgrades. The differences are as follows:

Major upgrade
A major upgrade offers new features. It is not necessary to uninstall the old version.
Backup your system, including customized files, such a customized um.properties file.
Run the complete setup to configure all the Control Room parameters in the installer. See Major Upgrade for instructions.
Patch fix
A patch fix is a maintenance upgrade to correct bugs. In order to install a patch fix, you must have the most recent base version installed.
Backup your system, including customized files, such a customized um.properties file.
Run the patch fix installation file to apply specific fixes to the Control Room features. See Patch Fix for instructions.
When you upgrade from Control Room Version 11.3.1 to Control Room Version 11.3.1.5 or later, the Enterprise Client (the connected devices) disconnects. Manually re-login to each of the connected devices, after upgrading all the nodes.
