Extract data from check box or check box groups

When you create a learning instance and set it for training IQ Bot displays the Designer where document groups are trained to extract data. This topic specifies the data extraction for single or group check boxes in the staging environment.

A check box is a user interface widget that allows you to make a binary choice. IQ Bot supports extracting data from check boxes or radio buttons with the following variations:
  • A tick mark
  • A cross mark
  • A dot mark
You can also combine multiple check boxes into a single group and associate it to a table field.
You can add the following types of check boxes and check box groups when creating a learning instance:
Date type Occurrence Field type
Check box Once Form field
Check box Repeated Table field
Check box group Once Form field
Check box group Repeated Table field

Follow the procedure to map check box field values in Designer:

Procedure

  1. Click the field you want to map from the left panel.
  2. In the center panel, in the Data type drop-down field, select value as check box or checkbox group.
  3. Click the Field label field and then click the corresponding value in the document in the right pane.
  4. To extract values, choose from the following options:
    • For a check box group, use the Draw tool to draw over the region covering all the check boxes in that group.
    • For a single check box, use the Draw tool to draw over the check box or select the auto-mapped check box segment.
Supported field values for check boxes are Yes or No.
  5. Optional: To add an individual check box to a check box group, select the desired value from the Checkbox group drop-down menu.

Extract data from repeated check boxes or check box groups

Follow the procedure to map repeated check box fields in Designer.

Procedure

  1. Click the repeated table section you want to map from the left panel.
  2. In the center panel, in the Data type drop-down field, select check box or checkbox group.
  3. Click the Column name field and then click the corresponding value in the document in the right pane.
  4. For Column value field, choose from the following:
    • For a check box group, use the Draw tool to draw over the region covering all the check boxes in that group.
    • For a single check box, use the Draw tool to draw over the check box or select the auto-mapped check box segment.
  5. Click See Extraction Results to see the extracted data. Check boxes that are not related to a group, appear as single check box fields, with Yes or No values.

For repeated check boxes or check box groups, you can view the extracted data in the extracted results instead of the Designer.

Additionally, you can view the group name of the associated check boxes with a Yes or No mapping.
Note: If the check box field is marked Optional and if the field value is not defined, then during See Extraction Results, no error is displayed. However, an error message is displayed if the field is marked as Required in the Designer.
  6. Optional: To add an individual check box to a check box group, select the desired value from the Checkbox group drop-down menu.
