Access Amazon Q index from Automation Co-Pilot
- Última atualização2025/12/19
Automation Anywhere supports application integration with Amazon Q Business, enabling Automation Co-Pilot users to access information from connected third-party data sources, such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Confluence, document-based sources, and more through your Q Index.
To get started, you must set up an Amazon Q Business account. The super admin user must complete a one-time setup to authorize Automation Anywhere and other connected platforms to access and share data with the Amazon Q index. Once this connection is established, individual Automation Co-Pilot users do not need to authenticate separately.
Solution architecture

Process reasoning engine (PRE) is the core technology that powers Amazon Q index integration with Automation Co-Pilot. PRE is the foundational intelligence layer that guides planning, decision making, and real-time adjustments. PRE understands both user intent and your automation inventory, intelligently selecting the right processes, gathering required data, and leveraging enterprise knowledge to deliver precisely what users need.
AWS security and privacy
Automation Anywhere does not manage the data usage or access control frameworks for Amazon Q. To learn more about how AWS manages your data, see Amazon Q index security and data protection.
Setting up
The setup for using Amazon Q with Automation Co-Pilot involves a one-time configuration across both the Amazon Q Business console and the Automation Anywhere Control Room. First, an Amazon Q Business admin must enable Automation Anywhere as a data accessor for the relevant Amazon Q index, including defining a trusted token issuer and granting appropriate access to data sources and user groups. Next, an Automation Anywhere admin user must register the Amazon Q index details in Control Room via API, using a REST client such as Postman to authenticate with Control Room and submit the Amazon Q Business app, retriever, and identity center details from AWS so Automation Co-Pilot can securely query the index.
- Enable Automation Anywhere as a data accessor in the Amazon Q Business console.
- Register Amazon Q details in Control Room via API.
Once connected, Automation Co-Pilot will be able to answer questions and run workflows with context from connected third-party data sources.
