Review what's new and changed, and the fixes and limitations in AI Agent Studio for the v.41 release.
What's new
| AI Skills as tools in AI Agent: AI Skills are now a first-class tool type in AI Agent. You can add an AI Skill directly from the Tools tab without wrapping it in a Task Bot if you want to run it in a desktop. To run it in a cloud you can wrap it in a API Task. This removes the need to duplicate input and output variables in an intermediary wrapper, reducing configuration time and simplifying agent design. |
| Token consumption tracking for AI Agents using
Automation Anywhere provided models
When a goal-based AI Agent executes using an Automation Anywhere provided Model connection, the total tokens consumed - input and output combined, across all planner invocations are now recorded and applied toward Automation AI Credit metering. Token usage from tools invoked by the agent, such as AI Skills, API Tasks, or other automations, is not included in this count. This tracking applies only to executions run outside the AI Agent editor. |
What's changed
| The + Add tool drop-down in the AI Agent editor now includes an AI Skill... option in addition to the existing Process, Task Bot, API Task, AI Agent, Form, and Outbound tool types. |
Fixes
| The Region field that previously appeared on the Authentication details page when creating an Aisera (Grounded by Aisera) Model connection is no longer displayed. Previously, as noted in the v.40 release limitations, this field appeared but was not required for Aisera connections and contained no selectable values. |
Limitations
| When a dependency (Process, AI Skill, AI Agent, and so on) is removed from an AI Agent Tools configuration, the dependency is not automatically removed from the repository. The removed tool still appears as a dependency for the AI Agent in the repository. |
| When viewing the governance log for an AI Agent automation, the logs in the Agent tab displays all input variable types as String in the tool description payload, regardless of the actual variable type. Variables of type Number, Boolean, DateTime, or List appears as String in the governance log. |
| When an AI Skill is added as a tool in AI Agent, input variables of type File are disabled and cannot be selected. File inputs are not supported for AI Skills running as tools in AI Agent in this release. |
When an AI Skill is added as a tool in AI Agent, the result_citations
output variable is disabled. Citation output is not currently
supported for AI Skills running as tools in AI Agent. |
| When an older version
AI Skill is selected as a tool in AI Agent, a warning prompts you to open and
re-save the skill. After re-saving, the warning message will not
automatically disappear from the tool configuration panel. If
this occurs, remove the tool and re-add the AI Skill. |
| When you create a Model connection and select Automation Anywhere in the Choose a vendor field, the Choose a type list is sometimes empty. The Standard option is then missing, and you cannot configure the connection. In other cases, Standard is already selected when the field appears. No workaround is available. |
