Set up lockers and credentials in Credential Vault - Assign credentials to lockers for Bot Creators to access during the bot building process.

Automation 360

Assign credentials to lockers for Bot Creators to access during the bot building process.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you are logged in to the Control Room as the administrator.

The credentials assigned are typically those where the administrator is granting some internal, business-related access to a Bot Creator or Bot Runner for RPA development, for example to a Salesforce account.
Note:
  • Credential and attribute names are case-insensitive.
  • In Automation 360 v.41 and later, credential and locker management for external vaults is available through only one of the following paths, depending on the features enabled for your environment: Manage > Credentials or Manage > External Vault.
    • If the Manage > External Vault option is visible, use this flow for all external vault related activities, including creating and managing lockers and credentials. This flow is designed for environments that use one or more external vaults. See Manage lockers for an external key vault connection.
    • If not, use the Manage > Credentials flow as discussed in this topic.
    • When Manage > External Vault is visible, the Manage > Credentials option remains visible too. However, external vault related credential and locker creation options are no longer available through the Manage > Credentials flow.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Manage > Credentials.
  2. Click Create credential.
  3. Enter the Credential name and a Description for the configured credential.
  4. If not integrating with an external key vault, ensure Credential vault is selected, and do the following.
Note: Credential vault is selected by default.
    1. Enter the Attribute name and supply the Description for the attribute.
    2. Select one of the following Input options:
      Input Value
Standard Enter the value. All users see the same credential value set by the credential owner.
User-provided The value field is not available because the values are not preset during creation. Only users of the locker containing this credential can provide the value
    3. Set Security for the attribute.
Note: When the Masked option is selected, the attribute value is hidden for security purpose.
    4. Select Use attribute ONLY on Password or Masked fields.
This option ensures that bots input the attribute value only into fields that are identified as password fields.
Note: When this option is selected, an attribute is available only for the commands in Automation Anywhere Enterprise client that support credential variables and where the fields are of Password type.
  5. Click Create credential.
  6. Click the MY LOCKERS tab.
  7. Click Create locker.
  8. Enter the Name.
  9. Optional: Enter a description.
  10. Click Create locker.
