Operating system and platform compatibility in Enterprise 11

Control Room and Enterprise Client both are installed on machines with supported operating systems. The Control Room and Enterprise Client tables list the supported Windows versions.

Both 32-bit and 64-bit OS versions are supported.

Control Room operating system compatibility

Control Room can be installed on machines running the following operating systems.

Important: Microsoft has announced end of support for Windows 7 from January 14, 2020. A full-screen notification will appear on the Windows 7 machines and manual intervention is required, which might affect the execution of the bot. The domain-joined machines and the machines in kiosk mode will not get the notification.
Enterprise Client components
Bot Creator and Bot Runner are compatible with the same operating systems as Enterprise Client.

  • Automation using Apache Flex technology is not supported.
  • Microsoft Edge Automation and triggers are not supported.
  • Automation using Microsoft Silverlight technology is not supported.

  • Automation using Apache Flex technology is not supported.

  • As of Automation Anywhere Version 11.3.2, this is no longer a limitation on Enterprise Client with Windows Server 2016.

    For Windows Server 2016 on Automation Anywhere versions older than Version 11.3.2:

    When installing Enterprise Client, to enable the AutoLogin feature for a logoff scenario, ensure that the lock screen appears and that the CTRL+ALT+DEL action does not appear on the lock screen. To ensure this:
    • Enable the Interactive logon: Do not require Ctrl+Alt+Del option in Local Security Policy > Local Policies > Security Options.
    • Disable the 'Do not display the lock screen' option in Local Group Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization.

Amazon Web Services EC2, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines. All listed operating systems. See the table for which Enterprise Client versions.
  • Starting with Version 11.3.4, Amazon Workspace cloud license and bring your own license (BYOL) are supported.

    For Enterprise Client to work properly on Amazon Workspace, you might have to disable web access by setting the group policy and updating the registry for the spacedeskHookUmode.dll on all Workspace machines.

  • Google App Engine/Desktops and Azure Virtual Desktops are not supported.
