    Read documents using a TaskBot

    Use a TaskBot to read a processed document from a CSV file.

    Typically, the .csv output directly reflects the sequence in which fields are selected while creating a learning instance. Fields added later by editing a learning instance are displayed at the end. However, all .csv files generated for the same learning instance is not guaranteed to have the same sequence of header fields. This occurs because some features such as Nested Table and Multi Table, which have their own specialized configuration at the bot level, alter the field sequence based on how that bot is configured during training.

    Therefore, you should access the output .csv file using field names instead of index in header.


    1. Open a new bot:
      1. On the left panel, click Automation.
      2. Click Create new > Bot.
      3. In the Create Task Bot window, enter a bot name.
      4. Accept the default folder location \Bots\.
        To change where your bot is stored, click Choose and follow the prompts.
      5. Click Create and edit.
    2. Open the CSV file.
      1. Double-click or drag the CSV/TXT > Open action.
      2. Click Choose to specify the location of the CSV.
      3. Choose from Delimiter, Header and Trim modes, as appropriate.
      4. Select Encoding > UTF-8 to ensure all the special characters from different languages appear accurately.
    3. Retrieve values from the CSV file.
      1. Double-click or drag the CSV/TXT > Read action.
      2. Create or select a table variable to hold the retrieved values.
    4. Close the CSV file.
      1. Double-click or drag the CSV/TXT > Close action.
    5. Click Save.
